The ZX-DCM2 DC Motor Control Board connects easily to Inex's
microcontroller experiment boards using the six 3-way connecting leads
provided. It could also be interfaced to your own circuits or other
development boards (including those by MikroElektronika) by soldering leads
directly to the board or adapting the supplied leads.
Based on an L293D H-Bridge IC, the ZX-DCM2 can be used to interface DC
motors to the 5V digital I/O lines of microcontrollers. By allowing for a
separate motor power supply the board can be used with motors operating at
supply voltages from 4.8V to 30V DC and allows for a maximum load current of
600mA. Two bi-coloured LEDs are provided to show motor status and direction
and LEDs also indicate the presence of both control and motor power
supplies.
Three inputs are provided for each motor: E allows for a pulse-width
modulation input, and A and B allow for direction control inputs. Operation
is as per the table below:
